Day 1: Arrival in Tangier
Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival in Tangier, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel or riad. Depending on arrival time, enjoy light photography along the Mediterranean coast, the Kasbah, or the old medina. Capture your first impressions of Morocco’s northern gateway. Overnight in Tangier.
Day 2: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen
Travel through the scenic Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City. Along the way, stop for landscape photography and rural village scenes. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon and begin exploring its blue-washed streets, stairways, and doorways—perfect for creative urban photography. Sunset offers soft light across the medina. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen Photography Day
Enjoy a full day of photography in Chefchaouen. Capture early morning light over the blue alleys, colorful doors, and mountain viewpoints. Visit the kasbah, local markets, and hidden corners of the medina. Afternoon free for personal shooting or relaxation in a café overlooking the valley. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Depart Chefchaouen toward Fes, stopping at the Roman ruins of Volubilis for historic photography among ancient columns and mosaics. Continue to Meknes for photos of monumental gates and old medina streets before arriving in Fes in the evening. Overnight in a traditional riad in Fes.
Day 5: Fes Guided Photography Tour
Explore Fes with a local guide, focusing on cultural photography in one of Morocco’s oldest medinas. Capture artisans at work, colorful tanneries, historic madrasas, and lively souks. Afternoon free for additional shooting or rest. Overnight in Fes.
Day 6: Fes – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing cedar forests and Berber towns. Stop for photography in the Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm oases and dramatic landscapes. Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon and prepare for sunset desert photography over the golden dunes. Overnight in a desert camp or hotel near Erg Chebbi.
Day 7: Merzouga Sahara Photography Day
A full day dedicated to the Sahara Desert photography. Capture sunrise over the dunes, explore desert villages and nomadic communities by 4×4, and photograph camel caravans and endless sand landscapes. Enjoy flexible pacing for portraits and nature shots. End the day with another magical sunset and stargazing. Overnight in Merzouga.
Day 8: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
After sunrise photography, depart Merzouga toward Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls create striking compositions. Continue to the Dades Valley for afternoon landscape photography among rock formations and green valleys. Sunset shooting before dinner. Overnight in Dades Valley.
Day 9: Dades Valley – Skoura Oasis – Ouarzazate
Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Skoura Oasis to photograph palm groves and historic kasbahs. Continue to Ouarzazate, known for its desert scenery and cinematic landscapes. Evening photography around the kasbah silhouettes and the desert plains. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 10: Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, depart Ouarzazate toward the legendary Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic photography locations. Spend time capturing the ancient mud-brick architecture, narrow alleys, and panoramic views from the hilltop—perfect for cultural and architectural photography. Continue your journey through the Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way for mountain landscapes and Berber village photography. In the late afternoon, arrive in Marrakech. Evening at leisure with optional sunset photography from a rooftop terrace overlooking the medina. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 11: Marrakech Photography Day
Spend the day exploring Marrakech with your local guide, focusing on cultural and street photography in the vibrant medina. Visit the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, colorful souks, and hidden courtyards while capturing daily life, architecture, and lively market scenes. In the afternoon, enjoy free time for personal photography projects or relaxation. Sunset offers beautiful rooftop views over Jemaa el-Fna Square. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira
After breakfast, travel west to the Atlantic coast and the charming seaside town of Essaouira. Along the way, stop to photograph argan trees and rural landscapes. Upon arrival, explore Essaouira’s historic ramparts, fishing harbor, blue doors, and sandy beaches—perfect for coastal photography. Enjoy the sunset over the ocean and overnight in Essaouira.
Day 13: Essaouira Photography Day
Enjoy a full day photographing Essaouira’s relaxed coastal atmosphere. Capture morning light at the harbor, colorful fishing boats, street scenes in the medina, and waves crashing against the old city walls. Afternoon free for beach walks or café time overlooking the Atlantic. Overnight in Essaouira.
Day 14: Essaouira – Marrakech – End of Tour
After breakfast, enjoy the final coastal photography before returning to Marrakech. Depending on your departure time, stop for last-minute shopping or photos in the souks before transfer to Marrakech Airport or your accommodation. End of your 14-Day Ultimate Morocco Photography Expedition.
