A Grand Moroccan Journey for photographers

Photography holidays designed to inspire stunning images

Our photography holidays and tours in Morocco inspire stunning photographs. Learning and improving your photo skills has never been easier. From the desert dunes beyond Marrakech to the lantern-lit medinas of Fes and the blue light of the Atlantic coast, every day is built around the moments and the locations that make a photograph worth keeping.

This is not a sightseeing trip with a camera attached. We slow down, wait for the right light, and stay long enough to understand a place — so your photography grows alongside the journey.

Why photograph Morocco

One country, a portfolio's worth of light

Few places reward a photographer like Morocco. Within a single journey you move from golden Saharan dunes to snow-touched Atlas passes, from chaotic, colour-soaked souks to quiet kasbahs glowing at sunset.

  • Sunrise and sunset over the dunes of the Sahara — the classic Moroccan desert photograph
  • Street and documentary scenes in the medinas of Marrakech and Fes
  • Architecture, doorways, tilework and texture at every turn
  • Environmental portraits of artisans, weavers and spice sellers
  • Landscapes across the High Atlas, palm oases and the Atlantic coast near Tangier and Casablanca

In the field & over the shoulder

Improve your photography, step by step

1

Light & timing

Learn to read the desert light, plan around the golden and blue hours, and be in the right place when a scene comes alive.

2

Composition & storytelling

Move past the postcard. Frame, layer and sequence your images so each one tells part of a bigger Moroccan story.

3

Camera confidence

Whether you shoot a DSLR, mirrorless or your phone, we demystify settings so the technical side never gets in your way.

4

Street & people

Approach, connect and photograph people respectfully — from busy souks to quiet workshops and market stalls.

5

Desert landscapes

Capture scale, shape and shadow in the dunes, and learn simple techniques for crisp, dramatic desert photographs.

6

Review & editing

Relaxed group reviews and an introduction to processing help you finish images you'll be proud to print and share.

How the workshop works

Small groups, real guidance, no rush

Groups stay small so everyone gets the time and attention they need. Days are built around the light, with field guidance as you shoot and friendly group reviews to talk through your images afterwards.

  • Intimate group sizes for genuine, personal instruction
  • A mix of guided shooting, one-to-one help and relaxed reviews
  • Comfortable riads and hotels chosen close to the best locations
  • Local knowledge of when — and where — the light is at its best

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be an experienced photographer to join?
Not at all. Our workshops welcome every level, from complete beginners to advanced photographers. Tuition is personal and adapted to your goals, so you'll always be learning at the right pace.
What camera should I bring?
Whatever you love using — a DSLR, a mirrorless camera, or even a modern smartphone. We focus on seeing, light and composition first, then help you get the most out of your own equipment.
Are the workshops suitable for couples and senior travellers?
Yes. We keep the pace relaxed and the walking gentle, choose comfortable accommodation, and warmly welcome couples — including a non-photographing partner who simply wants to enjoy the journey.
Which cities and regions will we photograph?
Depending on the itinerary, we photograph the Sahara desert, Marrakech, Fes, Tangier and Casablanca, along with the High Atlas mountains, kasbahs and coastal scenery in between.
How large are the groups?
Deliberately small. Keeping numbers low means more one-to-one guidance in the field and unhurried reviews, so everyone gets real attention and the locations never feel crowded.
Do you welcome travellers from the UK, USA and Australia?
Absolutely. Our workshops are hosted in English and we regularly welcome guests travelling from the UK, the USA, Australia and beyond.
Can the workshop be arranged as a private group?
Yes. Alongside our scheduled small-group dates, we can arrange private workshops for couples, friends or photography clubs, with itineraries tailored to your interests and ability.
